 Robert W. Tillery was born in Amite, Louisiana, and graduated from Louisiana State University with a B.S. in business administration before entering LSU law school in 1968. He was the sole owner and practitioner of his own firm from 1975 until mid 2011 when he retired from the full time practice of law and joined the law firm of Cashe Coudrain & Sandage in an "of counsel" association. His areas of particular emphasis include real estate, probate and succession, foreclosure and creditor bankruptcy matters, and insurance defense.

Robert served as Louisiana general counsel handling foreclosure, bankruptcy matters, and construction defense cases from 1984-2010 for Walter Mortgage Company and Jim Walter Homes, Inc.

Additionally, Robert was an associate with John D. Kopfler and Associates (Ponchatoula) and D'Amico and Curet (Baton Rouge). He was involved with General Civil Practice at Rolling, Tillery and Perrilloux (Hammond). His areas of expertise at these firms include Trials, Personal Injury, Real Estate, Real Estate Planning, Probate and Corporate Law, Workmen's Compensation, Bankruptcy, Collections, Real Estate Planning and Trusts.

Professionally, Robert is associated with the Twenty First Judicial District Bar Association, Louisiana State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He is a past member of Louisiana Trial Lawyers Association, Louisiana Associate of Defense Attorney and the American Bankruptcy Institute.

Robert's civil involvements include: past president of the Kiwanis Club of Ponchatoula; post Lieutenant Governor of La-Miss-Tn Region Kiwanis International; Secretary of Hammond Rotary Club; President of Hammond Rotary Club (1997-1998); past member of Ponchatoula Chamber of Commerce and Hammond Chamber of Commerce; Past President of Tangi Tigers LSU Alumni.

Robert is a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church. He also served as president of the Church Council, First United Methodist Church in Hammond (2011) and is past chairman of Staff-Parish Relations Committee and Finance. He is a present member of the Board of Trustees.
