Brooke E. Dufour was born in Hammond, Louisiana. Growing up in a military family, she lived in several places including Japan, Hawaii, Mississippi, and Louisiana. Brooke attended Northshore High School in Slidell before graduating from Amite High School in 1997.
Brooke attended Southeastern Louisiana University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 2001. While at Southeastern, Brooke was consistently on the Dean’s List, and was awarded the Presidential Honors Scholarship. She was a member of the Honors Academic Program, the French Study Abroad Program, Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society, the Thirteen Club, and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.
Brooke later attended Regent University School of Law in Virginia and received a Juris Doctorate in 2004. Brooke graduated in the top 15% of her law school graduating class. Brooke was a member of the Student Bar Association, the Federalist Society, the International Law Society, and traveled the nation as a recruiter for the department of admissions. A student of International and Human Rights Law at the University of Strasbourg, France, Brooke met with members and counselors to the European Parliament, the Council of Europe, the International Court of Human Rights, and both the American and European Centers for Law and Justice.
From 1997 through 2001, she worked for Scott M. Perrilloux in the 21st Judicial District Attorneys Office as a legal assistant in the worthless check and juvenile divisions.
Brooke began working at Cashe, Lewis, Coudrain & Sandage in 2005 as a law clerk and contract attorney before becoming an associate of the firm in 2008.
Brooke is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Maryland State Bar Association, the Young Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Louisiana, the 21st Judicial District Bar Association, the Inns of Court, and Kiwanis. Brooke has also gained experience in the retail industry as creative director, manager, and legal counsel to her family’s business, Obsession, L.L.C., founded in downtown Hammond in 2005. Brooke’s hobbies include sports, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family. The areas of her law practice include general civil practice, civil defense litigation, corporate and commercial litigation, insurance defense, public bodies, banking, employment law, and federal practice. |
